Ask about Hair Loss and Thinning

Leave your number and we call you back. Nobody else sees it.

How this works

You tell us what you are seeing and how long it has been going on. We ask a few questions back, because the same complaint has more than one cause and the routine is different for each. Then we suggest something, and we tell you honestly if we do not think it will help.

What is realistic

Ayurveda works slowly and it works on some things and not others. A routine is worth starting when you can give it months rather than days, and it is worth stopping when nothing has changed. We do not promise a result, a size or a date, and anybody in this trade who does is guessing at your expense.

Nothing here is a medicine or a substitute for seeing a doctor. If something is painful, changing quickly, or new and one sided, please have it looked at properly first.

Cosmetic and food supplement products. Individual results vary. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Before you buy anything

You will be talking to a person

Nothing here is bought from a shelf. You tell us what you are seeing, and we talk it through with you first.

  1. You tell us what you are seeing

On WhatsApp or on a call, in your own words. There is no form to fill and nothing to buy at this point. The more plainly you describe it, the more useful the answer is.

  2. We talk through a routine, not a purchase

What the tradition uses for that concern, how it is taken, how long it is usually given before anything is judged, and who it does not suit. If it is something we do not help with, we will say so.

  3. You decide, and we are still here afterwards

The order is taken on the call, and the same number keeps working after the parcel arrives. Questions part way through a routine are the normal case, not a complaint.

Inside the formulations

The herbs we work with

Named, with what they are traditionally used for and nothing added on top.

Bhringraj भृंगराज

Eclipta prostrata. Its Sanskrit name means ruler of the hair, and it is the herb most often found in traditional hair oils. That long use is why it is here.

Amla आंवला

Indian gooseberry. Used in hair oils and hair washes in Indian homes for generations, and eaten as a fruit and a preserve. One of the most familiar herbs in the whole tradition.

Brahmi ब्राह्मी

Bacopa monnieri. Known mostly as a herb for the mind, and also a traditional ingredient in the cooling oils massaged into the scalp.

Neem नीम

The leaf, used traditionally on the scalp in oils and rinses. Worth one caution: an itchy, red or flaking scalp has several causes and some need a doctor. We will say so if we think yours does.

Your privacy comes first

What you tell us stays between you and the person you speak to. Ask anything, however personal. That is what the call is for.

Questions people actually ask

We cannot promise that, and anybody who does is guessing. Hair loss has many causes. Some settle on their own, some are hereditary, and some need a doctor. On the call we ask what you are seeing and tell you honestly which it sounds like.

We will not give you a number of weeks. Hair grows slowly and sheds in cycles, so anything that is going to help takes time to show, and some things will not help at all. We will say which.

No. A hair oil is not a dye. Greying is mostly age and inheritance. We can talk about hair and scalp care, but not about changing its colour.

Tell us every medicine you take and every condition you are being treated for, and never stop anything your doctor prescribed. Some herbs do not mix with some medicines, and we would rather ask than guess.

Hair coming out in round patches, sudden heavy shedding after an illness, a delivery or a new medicine, or a scalp that is sore, weeping or scarring. Those need a dermatologist, and thyroid and iron are worth checking too.

Tell us before you start anything. Oils on the scalp are usually a different matter from herbs taken by mouth, but we would rather ask than assume.
